1935 Rose Bowl Coaches Cartoon
A newspaper cartoon from December 1934 featuring the coaches of the upcoming Rose Bowl game; Alabama's Frank Thomas and Stanford's Claude "Tiny" Thornhill. The cartoon at the bottom features Stanford's mascot at the time, the Indian.

The Harry Gilmer Newspaper Cartoon
Between 1928 and 1975, illustrator Bob Coyne was a staple of Boston sports scene, producing more than 15,000 cartoons and caricatures for various Beantown publications. When Alabama traveled to Massachusetts in November 1946 to play Boston College, Coyne produced this piece featuring the Crimson Tide's Harry Gilmer for The Boston Post. The Eagles defeated Alabama 13-7 at Fenway Park in Boston.

Ring Around the Rosie
A newspaper cartoon from December 1937 in anticipation of the Rose Bowl tilt between Alabama and California. It was drawn by sports cartoonist Art Krenz who worked on the Newspaper Enterprise Association (NEA) staff from about 1933 through 1940.
